KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) is witnessing a sharp decline on the third day of the business week.
When the market opened today, the index was at 33992 and Agha also increased by 127 points. The rally in the stock market did not last long and the index fell sharply a few minutes later.
Until the latest news from the stock market, the index had fallen by 233 points to 33,758 and 64,110,833 shares were valued at PKR 2,513,970,690. The stock market was on a downward trend on the first day of the trading week and the index closed at 33,916 points, down 195 points.
The stock market remained in the overall positive zone during the last business week. The stock market closed at 491 points on Monday, but ended at 32,553 on Tuesday after gaining 238 points.
Similarly, the KSE 100 Index had gained 605 points on Wednesday, while the stock market closed with a gain of 952 points on Thursday, the last day of the business week. Business was closed on Friday due to International Workers' Day.
