ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online) 180 Pakistanis released from different prisons in Dubai have returned home on a special flight.

According to private TV Hum News, the returning passengers include 178 men and 8 women. The returning passengers will be transferred to the hotels for screening. Pakistani citizens were released from jail due to the efforts of the government.

The men have been handed over to the district administrative officers at the airport. The prisoners coming from Dubai are being shifted to different hotels in the city where they will be screened and transferred to the hospital if the Corona test comes out positive.

According to a press release issued by the Pakistani Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE government released the prisoners under a mutual agreement between the government of Pakistan and the UAE due to the situation caused by Corona. The government has released a total of 400 Pakistanis who will be sent to Pakistan.

On the other hand, Gulf News quoted a Pakistani embassy spokesperson as saying that the released prisoners were serving sentences for minor offenses or had completed their sentences.
