Web Desk - Saudi Arabia has partially eased curfews imposed across the country, except Mecca, due to the corona virus.
According to Reuters, the country's curfew easing order includes a 24-hour curfew in Mecca, while restrictions will remain in place on the outskirts of Mecca.
Curfew will be relaxed in all cities of the country at 9 am and 5 pm at the beginning of Ramadan. The series will run through May 13.
The royal decree also allows for certain economic activities. These include wholesale markets, grocery stores and shopping malls.
All activities in which it is not possible to maintain social distance are still banned. Beauty salons and cinemas have also been ordered closed.
The order maintains a ban on gatherings of more than five people.
The administration in the capital, Riyadh, has also issued additional instructions prohibiting the use of currency notes.
There are also strict guidelines for shops that are allowed to open no more than one customer per 10 square meters.
Similarly, shopping malls that will be allowed to open will be sprayed with mandatory disinfectant once in 24 hours, while children under the age of 15 will be barred from entering the malls.
It should be noted that more than 16,000 cases of the corona virus have been reported in Saudi Arabia.
Authorities have confirmed 136 deaths from the epidemic.
The administration has so far tested 200,000 people to identify patients.
Authorities say more than 2,200 people have recovered from the outbreak.
Earlier this month, the Saudi government imposed a second curfew in the Muslim holy cities of Mecca and Medina in the wake of the coronavirus. A curfew was later imposed across the country, including in the capital, Riyadh.
During the holy month of Ramadan, people coming to Saudi Arabia from all over the world used to enjoy Umrah, but due to the Corona virus, the payment of Umrah has been stopped since last month.
As every year, Muslims around the world are waiting to come to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj, but for the first time in history, Saudi officials have urged all Muslims to temporarily delay preparations for the Hajj.
Other Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, have imposed sanctions in line with WHO recommendations.
It should be noted that after the orders of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, at the beginning of Ramadan, limited gatherings of Taraweeh prayers were allowed in the holy mosques of Makkah and Madinah from Thursday night.
It should be noted that the World Health Organization had appealed to avoid religious gatherings during the month of Ramadan to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
