Islamabad: (April 26, 2020) The government has decided to bring a new NAB ordinance.
Work has started on the new NAB Amendment Ordinance. According to law ministry sources, the old powers of the NAB have been restored as soon as the NAB Ordinance 2019 expires. Those who did not hold public office came back under the purview of NAB. The provision of proving financial gain for a public official in the misuse of power became ineffective. However, the clauses relating to the financial benefit of irregularities have also been removed.
According to sources in the Ministry of Law, the condition of rates of FBR and District Collector for calculating the value of property of a public office holder has also become ineffective. However, in facilitating the conduct of affairs, the facility provided on the aspect of goodwill will not be availed.
