Pakistan International Airlines has started planning direct flights to the United States. The first flight of PIA will leave Islamabad for Washington on May 7. PIA's Boeing 777 will leave for the United States empty and this special flight will reach Islamabad carrying more than 300 Pakistanis from Washington. OPIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik had made a formal request to operate flights between Pakistan and the United States, on which the US Department of Transportation has issued a letter in the form of a permit.
