Islamabad: The High Court has disposed of a request for the return of Pakistani students stranded in China, saying it was ineffective.
The High Court heard the petition filed by the parents and Deputy Attorney General Tayyab Shah appeared in the court on behalf of the federation. The court remarked that Corona is now a global issue and the situation has changed.
In a hearing last month, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Atharmanullah had remarked that the petition was not admissible but the court was hearing to satisfy the children's parents. According to official statistics, about 1,200 Pakistani students are trapped in China at that time.
The government of Pakistan had also sent food and financial aid to Pakistani students stranded in Wuhan. The government had assured the Islamabad High Court that all students were in safe hands and Pakistani embassy staff was in constant touch with them
