The Prime Minister issued a special message on the occasion of the launch of the drama, which was aired on Pakistan Television with Urdu dubbing, stating why he wanted to show the drama especially to the younger generation.

Imran Khan's decision to air Ertugrul in Pakistan was taken after a meeting with the heads of state of Turkey and Malaysia, in which the three heads of state also announced to form a TV channel together.
