RAWALPINDI: Pakistani peacekeeping mission in Congo has rescued 2,000 people trapped in floods during a successful operation. Seventy-five thousand people were affected by heavy rains in the Oviedo region.

According to the Pakistan Army spokesman, Pakistani peacekeepers reached the spot in the affected areas, blocked the floodplain with stones, rescued the victims in remote areas as well as provided medical aid and rations.
